Well, it’s the first day of a new year… I’ve been away for a bit, taking some time to rest, relax, and recuperate from December. I’ve been reading lots of ‘best of’ year end lists… best albums, songs, posts, you name it, I’ve read it.  I didn’t do any kind of year end recap… the way I see it, each day, when I sit down to write and reflect, it’s (usually) a ‘best of’ for that day… so really, all my posts are best of posts… how’s that for starting the year off with a whopping rationalization!

I know, when I go back to school this week, my little sprouts will all look just a tad bit bigger… I’m hopeful they’ll start acting a little more like first graders, because I’m going to be reminding them first grade is right around the corner every chance I get…  I’m hopeful our writing starts taking off the way it almost always does in January… I’m hopeful the hugs keep coming at the rapid fire pace they achieved right around the holidays…

A new year always brings opportunities for improvement.  Instead of working on your health (well maybe in addition to it), try improving your attitude this year… remember, a smile almost always fosters another smile. Try to remember, each child in your class looks to you to be a positive, dynamic, inspiring adult.  Take that to heart and cherish the responsibility.
