It’s all good.

It’s all good.

Aug 21

Well, I still can’t get into my room to setup – that’s the bad news.  The good news is I’ve decided to be like my hero, Pete the Cat.  Nothing is going to rile me up or induce panic.  I will let this all roll of my back and say, in Pete’s immortal words, “It’s all good.”

I was able to finally peek at my new sprouts’ folders.  Along with the screening data and parent questionnaires, there are photos.  You know, the pictures taken in the Spring during screening.  Those are my favorite.  Sure, you can’t tell much from a single photo, but there’s nothing sweeter than seeing that new dress bought especially for kindergarten screening.  Oh, and that naughty look you’re giving me, Mr. You Know Who You Are, guess what? We’re going to have fun whether you like it or not.  And I spotted at least one sprout with glasses and one redhead.  Thank goodness for glasses and redheads.

In a couple of weeks those photos will fade and the real children will take their place.  My room will be ready (really, it will be) and we will be learning, singing, dancing, and loving school.  How do I know?  Well, I just know.  Plus, my buddy Pete will be there with me on the first day to make sure it’s all good.

Pete the cat has a great philosophy – my kids at school love his books – I expect my son would have loved them when he was a little boy..
Enjoy your time off until you get into your room- you will soon be in the middle of the busyness and business of Kindergarten..

    Hey Buddy!

Do you know that you are going to be teaching in my old school? Well not really my old school because they tore that one down – yes- I am THAT old – LOL! But I went there many moons ago and actually got permission to cut through the woods to go home for lunch. That’s when we had “lines” to walk down to Broadway before we could disperse and walk on our own. We had to walk behind the patrol guards – I always wanted to be a patrol guide, but I never got that honor. Anyway . . . we had to walk two by two, on the sidewalk, all the way down the side street until we got to Broadway. Can you believe it. And yes – girls’ line and boys’ line. :-)
Did you get the new Pete the Cat book – isn’t it about buttons? Congratulations on your new job. I’m very happy for you.

Hey stranger! Yes, I love the new Pete the Cat book – it really helps with SIMPLE subtraction which is always hard in K. There is also a Christmas coming out in Sept. or Oct. He is really taking off! We need to have lunch with Susan soon! :)

And if you followed me on Twitter you would know about it!! I follow you – haha! I’m litcoachlou. Don’t you love my handle? Of course Susan got me on it!
