Today was a good day.  First of all, my pants did not rip.  To be clear, I was a little paranoid and found myself checking my backside a few times to make sure everything was intact.  And it was… all day long – so I was thankful for non-ripped pants.

The other event that I kept reflecting on all day was something that happened early this morning with Henry. I was sitting at my desk finishing up attendance when Henry walked over and stood in front of me.  Now during arrival today the kids were Buddy Reading and Henry had just gotten back from breakfast.

“Henry what’s up?  Do you need a buddy?” I asked.

He didn’t say anything, but just stood there. I wasn’t sure what he wanted.

“Are you alright?” I prodded.

Again he didn’t say anything.

“Would you like a hug?” I queried.

With that he melted into my arms.  Apparently he wasn’t comfortable asking, but really wanted a hug.

“You know what Henry, I love you,” I told him.

“I know,” he replied.

I thought about that moment from time to time today.  Our sprouts knowing we love them is really what it’s all about.
