Apr 25Today was the first day back for my sprouts after a whopping twelve days (Spring Break and screening) off. You never really know what to expect after any amount of time off, so I just try to be prepared and pray for the best.
Of course we had a lovely day together, filled with lots of ‘I missed you hugs’ and even a few gorgeous dandelion gifts after recess. Seriously, I don’t care what anyone says a) men love flowers too (I am man enough to admit it and even put one behind my ear) and b) the dandelion is one underrated blossom.
Probably the best part of the day was as we gathered for Morning Meeting. With almost everyone gathered in our circle, Cicely scooted over next to me and with her mostly toothless grin said, “I really, really, missed you.”
“Oh, I really missed you too! All of you!” I replied.
And I did. Its wonderful to be back… and summer is right around the corner to boot.
I felt the same way when I went back from Spring Break….I wonder how many hugs they got each day or how many people helped them blow their nose or tie their shoes! LOL, I love letting my sweet babies know I love them and they are special!
