Apparently, the idea of a male kindergarten teacher is a little too much for some of my sprouts.  A select few, after only a week together, are still calling me, ‘Mrs. ______’ instead of Mr.  Does it bother me? Not in the least.

You see, in the grand scheme of things, with all we have to learn and do together, what they call me just isn’t high on the priority list.  I’ve heard of many students calling their leader simply ‘teacher’ and I’ve yet to have that happen… they just think Mrs. equals teacher.

They’ll get it eventually.  If it starts to bug me (it won’t), I will correct them.  Right now, what matters is they are settling in and feeling comfortable in their new home away from home. I’m comfortable enough in my own skin to hear Mrs. _______, I have to pee!’ from time to time.
