Shirt twins.

Shirt twins.

Mar 06

What is it about two kids wearing the same shirt (or even the same entire outfit) that just tickles kindergartners.  Whenever this happens, both children come running over to point out their shirt twin.  This is what I’ve started calling it – “You’re shirt twins!” and they giggle like I’ve just said something hilarious.

Well this morning, Barry walked up to me with a huge grin.  I had no clue what he was so happy about, so, as I usually do, I asked him about it.

“What’s up Barry?” I prodded.

“We’re shirt twins!” He grinned back.

Sure enough, Barry and I were wearing the same exact shirt.  Well as this breaking news spread throughout the classroom, there was quite a bit of excitement… Barry and I were shirt twins – this was a really big deal.  As other kids arrived and noticed they all pointed out our matching shirts.

Being shirt twins with the teacher… does it get much better than that?

That’s so awesome! I’ve never been shirt twins with a student but I love it when the kids notice and are super-excited when THEY are shirt twins :) . We use that same term ‘shirt twins’ in my classroom as well, btw. So funny!

This made me chuckle because my preK kiddos are the same way- although I have some that think just because you are wearing the same color of shirt then you are twins :)
