As I said ‘Goodbye’ to my sprouts today, I got lots of hugs and one friend even asked his mom to bring him back to the classroom to see me one more time. Sigh.

There is so much I am thankful for this year and truly feel as if my cup runneth over.

I am thankful my students come in everyday eager and ready to learn and when they’re not, they let me ‘in’ to try and help them become ready.

I am thankful for the staff at my new school who welcomed me with open arms and have made me feel special from day one.

I am thankful for parents who send in extra snacks.

I am thankful for weighted vests!

I am thankful for my Smart Board which has changed the way I teach.

I am thankful I get to share the joy of reading with my class everyday.

I am thankful for a five minute commute.

I am thankful for all the hugs I get each day.  Tons and TONS of hugs.

I am thankful each time my class cheers when it’s time for Writing Workshop.

I am thankful for Fridays!  But I also love Mondays and the prospect of a new week of learning and fun.

I am thankful each time a child says ‘I love you.’

I am thankful for YouTube and the tons of free exercise, learning, and motor break videos I’ve found.

I am thankful I found a school and class that needs me just as much as I need them.

What are you thankful for this year?
