A coworker lent me The Truth About DIBELS over the summer and as with all professional books, it sat on my bedside table for awhile (months). I recently finished this short book and found it fascinating. The authors present the various DIBELS tests and procedures along with comments from parents, teachers, and even DIBELS staff. It’s an intresting read. As an educator, I always want to investigate all sides of curriculum and assessments used and this book offers some interesting viewpoints on DIBELS. It also included a CD with a Powerpoint presentation that covers the main points of the book.
Like most teachers, I have my own feelings about DIBELS, but I’m more curious what others think… If you use DIBELS, what do you think about it?
